Conway Christian's Eagles left Poyen with an 11-7 conference victory Monday night.

The Eagles started off strongly with a leadoff walk and a two-run home run by Jacob Calloway.

“We just got started off on the right track,” CC coach Shane Davis said.

The Eagles built their lead to 11-1 through six innings. Poyen fought back with two runs in the seventh.

Starting pitcher Ezra Wiley was 2-for-5 with three RBIs for the Eagles, and both Tanner Stevenson and Ashton Robinson were 2-for-4. Lance Nail walked five times and added four runs to the Eagles scoreboard.

Wiley held strong on the mound for five innings, striking out six, walking just one, and allowing five hits. Wiley took home the victory for the Eagles, with Nail getting the save.

“This was a good game in conference, and it was on the road," Davis said. "Those on-the-road conference games are big."

The Eagles were scheduled to face Heber Springs on Tuesday, but the game was cancelled because of rain. They will head to Mt. Vernon-Enola on Thursday for a 4 p.m. game.
